Director / Choreographer
Rachel established Flings & Things following a 20 year competitive Highland Dancing career that brought worldwide success in every age category. She amassed an impressive list of over 100 Championship titles, including:

3 x UK Champion of Champions
North American Open Champion
Northern Canadian Open Champion
Australian Champion of Champions
Since 2008 she has been a qualified International Adjudicator, and has been selected to judge the Australian International Championships, UK Championships, Commonwealth Championships and the 2014 World Championships. She is a Member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing and the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance, and represents ScotDance Canada as Lead Delegate to the Scottish Official Board of Highland Dancing. She has lectured all over the world, and has led seminars and workshops on Championship preparation, technique and choreography in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, as well as all throughout the UK and Ireland.
An experienced international performer, Rachel has choreographed, directed and led performances at global events and festivals, including the RBS 6 Nations at Murrayfield Inernational Stadium, New York Tartan Week, Beijing International Tourism Festival and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. In addition to her work with Flings & Things, she regularly performs and choreographs for the incredible Whisky Kiss, one of Scotland's most exciting contemporary ceilidh bands, and has performed with the band in Dubai, Monte Carlo, New York and all over the UK.
Rachel is available for solo performances, private tuition, lectures and workshops.
Brogan has been a dancer for over 20 years, learning styles ranging from ballet to tap and modern. A late starter in Highland Dancing terms, she began learning Highland at the age of 6 and it quickly became her main focus. During her younger years, Brogan took part in competitions and theatre work dancing in pantomimes and shows. She continued to compete throughout Scotland and was a regional Champion representing the Kingdom of Fife on numerous occasions at the Scottish Area Finals team competition. She performed with the prestigious Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo Company, travelling with them to Australia to perform in the Sydney Royal Military Tattoo.
Brogan has been an integral member of the Flings & Things team since the group began in 2014, performing and teaching workshops all over the country. She has performed all over the world with the Red Hot Chilli Pipers and Whisky Kiss, traveling to the USA, Singapore and Dubai to dance.
Born in Dundee, Scotland, Shelley has had a successful competitive dancing career spanning over 20 years. A Champion dancer, she has had many competitive highlights including being a World Championship finalist and placing top 6 in the Scottish Open Championships at every age.
Shelley is a Fellow of the United Kingdom Alliance and with the guidance of teacher Wilma Tolmie became a member of the SOBHD adjudicating panel in 2011. Since then she has judged multiple Championships and Premierships throughout the UK.
Outwith competing, judging and teaching Shelley has had many non-competitive highlights, including dancing with The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, being part of the Assemble and Leap cast and representing the SOBHD at the Tartan Day Parade in New York.
